Opportunity in Action
LFL provides individualized support that helps local low-income and first-generation students navigate college, explore careers, and access opportunities that might otherwise feel out of reach. From application guidance and essay support to internships, campus visits, summer enrichment, and community engagement, students receive practical resources and long-term mentorship tailored to their goals.

College Planning and Applications
Students receive personalized guidance with college selection, applications, essays, recommendations, financial considerations, and the broader admissions process. LFL also helps students identify institutions and scholarship opportunities that can make higher education financially attainable.

Commitment to Community
LFL helps scholars become active, engaged members of their communities. Through opportunities such as serving on the Nevada County Youth Commission, attending Town Council meetings, and participating in local civic initiatives, students gain the confidence, knowledge, and experience to make their voices heard and contribute to the decisions shaping their community.

Career and
Leadership Development
Through internships, pre-professional planning, community engagement projects, and leadership opportunities, students begin exploring how their education and talents can translate into meaningful careers and community impact.

Mentorship that Continues
LFL’s support extends beyond submitting a college application. Students are connected to consistent mentorship and guidance as they enter college, consider graduate school, pursue professional opportunities, and navigate new challenges.
